A Healthy Store-Bought Birthday Cake Option: Simple Mills Cake Mix

*This is not paid at all just sharing what I did specifically for my daughter’s birthday

If you are short on time or don’t have all the ingredients on hand, you can still make a healthy birthday cake by using a store-bought cake mix. Simple Mills makes a variety of cake mixes that are made with clean ingredients, such as almond flour and coconut flour. These cake mixes are also low in sugar, with only 2 teaspoons of sugar per slice of cake.

To make a healthy birthday cake with Simple Mills cake mix, you will need:

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Grease an 8-inch round pan.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the cake mix, water, applesauce, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Mine took about 40 minutes.
  6. Let the cake cool completely before frosting.

For the frosting, I used coconut yogurt that has no sugar at all. Any other yogurt would work just as well. You will be surprised at how delicious this combination is, with added nutrients like fiber!

This healthy birthday cake is a great option for those who are short on time or don’t have all the ingredients on hand. It is also a great way to enjoy a birthday cake without all the sugar and unhealthy ingredients.

I would also like to add that it is important to remember that moderation is key. Even a healthy birthday cake should be enjoyed in moderation. It is also important to make sure that your child is getting a balanced diet overall.

I hope this information is helpful!
