Why swap coffee for matcha? You might ask. Coffee is known for it’s benefits. It has definitely been linked to longevity as well.
In the quest for a longer, healthier life, many of us turn to superfoods and functional beverages. One such beverage, gaining immense popularity, is the matcha latte. One is a regular classic matcha latte. This one you can enjoy warm.
The second one has a longevity twist and is best enjoyed iced.
Matcha Latte Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder
- 1 cup hot water
- 1/4 cup your favorite milk (almond, oat, or coconut)
- Sweetener (optional, such as honey or maple syrup)
Instructions:
- Whisk matcha: In a small bowl, whisk the matcha powder with a small amount of hot water until smooth.
- Add milk: Pour the remaining hot water and milk into the bowl.
- Sweeten (optional): Add your sweetener of choice to taste.
- Whisk again: Whisk the mixture until frothy.
- Enjoy: Pour the matcha latte into a mug and enjoy!
Iced Longevity Matcha Latte
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ashwagandha powder (optional for stress reduction)
- 1/4 teaspoon maca root powder (hormone balance and energy)
- 1/2 tsp MCT oil (brain support)
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon (anti-inflammatory)
- 1 cup your favorite milk (hemp, almond, or coconut)
- 1/4 cup ice
- Sweetener of choice (optional; raw honey is usually a good one)
Instructions:
- Whisk matcha: In a small bowl, whisk the matcha powder with a small amount of cold water until smooth.
- Add adaptogens: Add the ashwagandha, cinnamon, and maca powders to the matcha mixture.
- Combine with milk: Pour the milk into the bowl and whisk until well combined.
- Add ice: Pour the mixture over ice in a glass.
- Sweeten (optional): Add your MCT oil and sweetener of choice to taste.
